I was having a "discussion" with a communist on CreateDebate and it had occured to me that democracy easily has the ability to take away freedom. it isn't freedom at all, because there is still power over individuals, and that is the power of the majority.

keep in mind, we were debating Capitalism vs. Socialism, and of course that shit wandered. The thing is, in order to ensure individual freedoms, we must set permanent laws... which defeats the purpose of democracy.

I heard that in the United States at least there's a plan to monitor Internet and torrent usage which in turn may serve as pretext for other countries to follow. Questions:

1. Is this true?

2. If true or if not, hypothetically, how will they suppose to do it?

3. If true or if not, hypothetically, how could we protect our privacy?

For Internets, I know there are proxies and TOR. Though it slows down you're Internet much.

What Movie Deserves 4 Stars?

When I think of a lot of movies, even though they can be really good... i never think they're four star material.

but what movies would you say definitely deserves 4 stars? remember, this means great acting, great editing, great script, great directing, great dialogue, and originality.

First movie i'd say is "The Pianist". I personally think it's one of the best films so far of the 21st Century.

yeah, it was cool... but like the movie Iron Man, it was way too over hyped.

Iron Man got it cause it was the return of Downey, and The Dark Knight got it cause Heath died.

seriously, #1 movie of all time? hell, V for Vendetta and The Matrix should get that shit.

don't get me wrong, i liked The Dark Knight... but it definitely wouldn't be up there with the greatest movies i've ever seen.
