Was Jesus black or white?

i say that jesus was black because my history teacher told me that at the time jesus was born there were mainly arabs and africans there. so jesus was black. what do u ppl think?

Uhh... I don't think origionaly, but I could be wrong... But also, remember at the time they were under what, Roman law yes? Rome being a European nation.

impossible to determine, if you go by christian belief, then he was the son of god, however, we know that skin color is determined by genetics, you get half your genes from your mother, and half from your father, since jesus didn't have a human father, his genetics could have been just about anything, or he may not have even had human genetics, so the concept that being born somewhere is what determines your skin tone, is horribly flawed, it is entirely genetics

I agree with PKB he was Mid Eastern. But my mom always said that his skin color doesn't matter, just worship him and accept him as your savior is the only thing important.

I know that. I don't believe in a jesus. If I don't believe in one can it have a color? and why does it matter? doesn't he/she do practically the same thing every other religion does?(correct me if I am wrong)

Most religions don't have Jesus, and you don't seem to get the fact that Jesus existed, there is no doubt of that. So he did have a color, the only question is if he was God's question.

if he was gods son, then where he was born had nothing to do with his skintone since it's genetic based on your parents, and we'll assume that god doesn't fit the human genome, if he's not gods son, then we really have no reason to care what color he was anymore than we would some other random person from ancient times

It isn't an opinion, we have written records of his existence, and no I don't mean the Bible. It is an indisputible fact that a man named Jesus existed, and that he preached, bassically all you are doing is making a fool of yourself.

And to Allor and JMJ, seeing as he was in a region of bassically a few colors, and was raised as a mere Human, his skin tone was most likely that of the people around him. Otherwise he woulda fit in like a sore thumb.

jesus hardly tried to fit in, he pissed off the roman empire and a hell of a lot of people definitely knew he was there, it's not like he was trying to blend in with the crowd, just because the religion was a certain way, you are basically saying that god thinks like you do, and that's blasphemous, god could have any number of reasons for making jesus whatever color he was, and if you believe in the christian doctrine, then god created jesus, mary really had nothing to do with it, so jesus was whatever color god created him to be, now what they may have been we don't know, we do know that the christian god doesn't play favoritism, so the color of jesus could have been just about anything
