| I heard that in the United States at least there's a plan to monitor Internet and torrent usage which in turn may serve as pretext for other countries to follow. Questions: 1. Is this true? 2. If true or if not, hypothetically, how will they suppose to do it? 3. If true or if not, hypothetically, how could we protect our privacy?
For Internets, I know there are proxies and TOR. Though it slows down you're Internet much.

| You really dont have much privacy on the internet. When your computer is sending data, anyone with the know how can read it. Any privacy you think you have is a illusion. | |

| They wouldn't, think about it. It would be a complete waste of time on their part. Do you think they really want to go after all you basement dwelling, knuckledraggers downloading your pornography. They have better things to do. | |

| the united states government has access to all that information which is kept by your internet service provider but unless you were involved in a criminal investigation of some sort they'd be very unlikely to actually look at any of it | |

| short answer yes long answer yes but not everyone
currently a leaked report (this is in England) from the home office says that 1 in 82 people are having their emails checked by the government how do they choose the 1 in 82 people is to occasionally peak into what they are browsing and make a judgement basis.
In America, well considering the Obama administration has passed a law which legally allows the government to then i'm going to say that they are doing it but on what scale I don't know
