Mother War

War is not honorable,
But honor can be found in war.

War is not evil,
But evil can be done in war’s name.

Nor is war good,
But good can be birthed of war.

War is but a word,
To describe conflict unbound,
It is mankind that decides how war shall be waged,
So do not blame war for this hellish place.
Which we ourselves create.

You think by labeling war evil,
And marching in the streets,
That you have rinsed your hands of the blood,
The tears,
And the lost lives.

But you are still to blame,
Because you turn a blind eye to the truth,
The bitter truth that lies in front of you.

We suckle on the teat of conflict,
Find comfort in chaos’s arms.

We learned to walk, just so we could march into battle,
Built the weapons that forged our society, just to slay our brethren.

So the truth is,
This thing called war,
That you hate so much,
Is a mother,
And humanity it’s child.

i think war is good. sort of a misanthropic "time to trim the hedges" type thing. but i'm misanthropic in a certain style. not the same way as you though. different levels, i'm one way, and you're another.
