The Iraq war. Change of tactics needed?.

Looking at the number of american casualties and the body bags coming from the iraq war, I'm thinking the current administration should change tactics.

Perhaps withdrawing all US troops from iraq and sending in chiyo-chan in her penguin suit?.

Seriously speaking, though. We've had quite enough deaths from this war. What do you folks think?

I think they should just drop bombs on Iraq.
Like get all the soldiers out and some of the civilians and drop the bombs.

They are making the same mistake they did it Vietnam

Two points

1) They're using a conventianal army agianst a gurrlia enemy. This is more a task for the special forces. A example of this can be seen in the early USSR-Afgan war, where the Soviets dropped their SPANTEZ special forces using hellicopters. Of course, this tactic later failed due to the americans giving the Afgans speciased weapons, which were ironicly later used aginast the US itself, but I digress.

2) The US agian (like Vietnam) is not doing enough to win over the hearts and minds of the iraqi people. All they will see the american troops as is an invading power, profiting off their land.

That is my conclusion anyways

well, we've actually had the least amount of casualties of any war...

but, the problem is, we aren't progressing fast enough.

1. we need a much stronger troop surge, 100k+
2. the iraquis need to start helping more. they are a bit, but most are just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses.

but it's not a lot like Vietnam. Vietnam had a shitload of deaths. Although, hopefully we don't make the same mistake that we did in Vietnman (pulling out).

I think again, Hanzo hit the nail on the head. We have not learned the lessons which we should of.

Though I think this is a war that should be fought with more inteligence agencies than military forces.

And our, well let's be blunt, propaganda campaign, is wholy lacking.

No, not as many casuliys, but think for a moment. Did the Vietcong win by force? No. They won by turning public opnion agianst the war, and look whats happening now........

honestly i have no problem with helping the iraqies but i sure do wish they would show someapreciation for what we did for them
its like somalia and veitnam all over again, (and again i say i ahve n trouble with helping any country in need of food or needing to be freed from a tyrant)
we help some people and the second they get their strengh back they start throwing rocks at us

What exactly did you do for them? You bombed the shit out of them, and then deposed a leader which a large majority of the people favored

Stay in: pros: we can try and leach more oil. con:a fuck load more casulties, more tax payer cash going into the war effort more of the world will hate us.

Pull out: pros: less people dieing, all that money can go to some other bullshit thing. con: we look weak, we can't suck anymore oil, gas prices and shit raise even more, ans most of the world will still hate us.

Actually, politically, we can not leave for a year. We also cannot attack another nation in this time span.

plus, we should use Vietnam as an example. The people were devestated when we left, and millions of innocent casualties occured once after we left. and the hippies blame the government for that to.

this is like vietnam because of the split in america it has caused. propaganda, two americas, sympathy and justification for the enemy and hatred towards the government and troops.
